I have heard good and bad press concerning tub skins, but I would hope they are better than electro plating. I have personally had experience with the painting of bathtubs. If your going to sell the home, and your not concerned about the next owner it looks great. After a couple of years though, it starts to come off and looks horrible. It lasts well past the guarantee of one year, but not much. The problem is, your trying to put a new surface on porceline which is fired on in the factory and becomes glasslike. When ever you try and put anything on it that is painted and your going to put water into it, the water will help to remove it. In addition you have expansion and contraction constantly working as a force below the painted surface.
Good Luck
