Hi, Jody. I certainly would not assume that it is latex paint on your tile walls and tub. That would be about the last choice. But I do have a suggestion for you. There are fiberglass tub liners available for about any tub ever made. I suggest that you contact one of the places that install them and have them come out for an estimate on the tub liner. Probably, they can give you a better guess on what kind of paint was used. I don't know for sure if they will have to remove it from the tub or not but that should give you a lot more direction. Then buy the tub liner from them and have them install it when you have figured out what to do about the paint. Any kind of paint is a very poor surface for tubs. Look in your phone book for sources for the tub liners.
