Tub Fitters

Posted by Janice Golubchik on November 10th, 2002 04:11 PM

We have a 50+ pink tub. We want to replace existing floor and wall tile but not take out the tub. Is is possible to have a liner put in over the existing tub to make it white so that it matches the rest of the remodeled bathroom. I know that there is company that does this but they always show the tile surrounding the tub as part of it. I just want the tub covered but I want the rest of the tile as is so that I can put up the traventine tile that I want for my walls and floor. If we go this route for the tub is there a problem as far as drain clogs etc? We thought about reglazing but I heard that the chemicals are very caustic and you can't use the tub any more for fear that the chemicals could leech out. Who can I call to get an estimate if there is such a thing as a tub liner without the surround?

Thank you for your time.
