right, the water insde won't freeze. Un less the pipes are or can be pitched out of the house so they'll drain out at the end of the pump cycle one can be used. Again using 6 to 8 feet of pipe to get out of the house there's about a gallon of water left. When a pump cycle drains 10 to 100 gallons of water the gallon of water the backwash is minimal and doesn't justify the valve. C.
