What can we do to get TREX to take our mold stain problem seriously? My husband and I have two Trex decks. The spotting is terrible. Trex has sent us cleaning kits twice. They clean up the decks nicely, but only lasts for a few weeks. Then trex recommended that a water sealer be used. Note that all of their brochures say virtually carefree and never needs sealing. After multiple phone calls to trex customer service over that last 3 years, they have been slower to return my calls. Now they don't return them at all. Trex sent someone to my home last fall to clean one of the decks. In addition to cleaning and sealing, they also put a mold and mildew inhibitor on the decking. So far, this has worked, but I was told that this is effective for a max of 2 years. So now we have gone from "carefree" to being sent a kit that includes gloves and a mask. Directions to use a water sealer at our own expense. And the need to use a mold and mildew inhibitor (I checked out the price -- $40.00, and I don't know how much area that covers). The company that trex sent to clean our decks said that they would return this spring to clean the other deck, however this company, along with trex customer service, has not returned multiple phone calls. So now here we are, with expensive, "carefree", ugly decking. Anybody else out there want their money back? Please contact me at marilynwall@prodigy.net
