I have a block (square) of sidewalk that my tree, located one foot away is pushing the square up. It`s a full size tree. In one spot it is almost 3 inches higher than the next block of cement. Will I need to cut away at the root pushing up the block to replace the cement square with a acceptable depth of cement that wont crack in the future. Will this be too harmful on the tree? The tree is a Maple.
