Rodney, an aquaitance of mine finished a living
room with old weathered barn siding. He used about
1c clorox bleach and 1c spic and span in a 2.5
gallon scrub bucket. He scrubbed the boards with a straw
broom then rinsed them off after letting them set
a few minutes. After they dried he put the boards on the
wall and treated thm with poly-urethane. As far
as I know, he has'nt had any insect problems at all.
I am using old barn beams and siding in my house
and am looking for information on how to treat the
beams. I'll be checking the bullitens so if you find any
more info , please e-mail me. thanks
