We've hired a contractor to replace our polybutylene pipes with copper pipes. So far everything is going well and the new pipes are working great. However, the building inspector failed our inspection because of "trapped water lines" (basically saying that if we wanted to totally drain the water lines we wouldn't be able to drain a specific set of pipes because the way they were installed they wouldn't be able to drain). The contractor doesn't see an easy way to fix this, and has mentioned that we could get the building inspection to pass if we signed a waiver stating that we're aware of the situation. Has anyone else had experience with trapped water lines? How concerned should I be with condensation forming on the pipes or any other concerns that I'm not aware of? Thanks for your help.
