Tracing Circuit

Posted by DIY Novice on January 13th, 1999 03:17 PM

We just moved into a 20 year old house and I wanted to label the breakers. Of course, this was easy using a LED tester. However, what I found was kind of disturbing. The previous owners, claiming they always used contractors, seemingly have majorly overloaded a 15 A breaker. They have multiple GD openers, multiple sump pumps, multiple fload lights and ~20 other outlet/light fixtures on it. Isn't this way to much?

This is probably far fetched, but. Is there an easy way to trace circuits? Assuming serial connection and accessible junction boxes, is there some tool or collection of tools that will tell me if a device is before or after another device?
