Thanks for sticking with the subject. MAny would not investigate further than their beliefs.

The total resistance of a stick-built wall with air, siding, fiberglass and inside finish is R-14.

The total resistance of a 10-inch round log is R-11 - the same resistance as the 3-inch insulation inside the stick-built wall without the outside siding and th inside finish.

In other words - the 10-inch round log home wall is 21% less efficient in keeping the inside warm.

The 10-inch thick log could also make 8 studs and 4 outside part-round 8" wide round trim sections to make the outside of the stud wall LOOK like a log cabin.
