We Kansas-Kansas Citians do seem pretty intent on winning the race for Urban Sprawl. Fortunately, about 20 years ago I found one of those little enclaves of older homes in what used to be a small town, which were in various stages of decay, and slowly but surely (and much prodding of the City Fathers), the neighbors are selling out/buying in/fixing up and really coming to appreciate what's left in our historic little town. Now, over on the Missouri side of KC, it would seem they are just content to let it all sit there and rot... but at least nobody has yeat torn it from the face of the earth for all time, so perhaps there's hope.
I'll think of you when I see the weather map and the blizzard/rain/sleet/hail/tornados are moving our way from the Wichita area (which the really bad ones always seem to do). And I'll be thinking, "Doggone that David..."
