Carolyn if you are going to attempt this you need a good strong helper, a jigsaw (unless you can handle a circular saw), a lot of time and patience. The installation kit costs about $55/day to rent at HD plus a $500 deposit (!). I bought some installation straps for about $10-$15 a piece - they are designed for hardwood floor installation but work on the laminate. Pergo has a good website with instructions but there are others too that I found helpful. There is also a video at HD that was informative. Once you get your pattern defined - how many of each boards to put in each row - you can keep moving. If you/helper can cut while the other clicks you can get done rather quickly. Remember to caulk the expansion spaces and I found using regular floor moldings - rather than the Pergo brand - was easier to install and less expensive. Good luck!
