Toilet and new Ceramic Tile Floor

I'm remodelling my basement and I want to replace the toilet with a new one. I also want to install a new ceramic tile floor over a plywood subfloor which will increase the thickness of the floor. The question is, does the flange in the floor need to be raised to accommodate the increased thickness of the floor? The flange seems to be permanent, so is there something else I need to do before installing the new toilet?
