THE CONTRACTOR THAT BUILT MY TWO STORY HOME THREE MONTHS AGO USED TJI,S ON THE MAIN FLOOR, 3/4" OSB,SUBFLOOR THEN 3/4" HARDWOOD FLOOR(TONGUE AND GROOVE) THE TJIS COVERED A 50' SPAN. THERE IS A CENTER SUPPORT WALL AND THIS IS WHERE MY QUESTION COMES. EVERY TJI HAS A ONE INCH WEDGE BETWEEN THE TOP PLATE AND THE TJI I ASSUME TO LEVEL THE FLOOR? EACH TJI HAS BEEN ADJUSTED ON AVERAGE OF ONE INCH. IS THE ONE INCH WEDGE ENOUGH OVER TIME TO KEEP THE FLOOR FROM SETTLING? I HAVE NOTICED LOUD "CRACKS" COMING FROM THE HARDWOOD FLOOR.
