DIF should do the trick. Take a deep breath and regroup.
Get the DIF container and re-read the Instructions. The keys are to use BOILING hot water and to be sure you're perforating the paper AND to let it 'work' on the glue for 15 minutes. The water needs to be HOT all the time. Only press the Paper Tiger enough to perf the paper. If you press TOO hard, you'll have a spackling job to 'fill' in all the unnecessary 'indentation' from the Paper Tiger. (You are using a Paper Tiger to score the walls, eh?)
Go crazy w/the Tiger ESPECIALLy if you have vinyl wallpaper. Get some plastic gloves and use one of those HUGH sponges that you use to wash the car with. Lay some plastic, then some newspaper (on top of the plastic) along the base of the wall(s) that you're working on. Get yourself a 4" spackle knife to 'assist' you in removing the paper AFTER the DIF solution has done its work for 15 minutes. When you're ALL finished, then kinda 'wash' the walls with a clean mix of the DIF and water solution (boiling hot) to remove any excess glue. If you're painting, be SURE to use a top-quality PRIMER/SEALER first.
Sorry, never heard of 'wick' although Wick is a good friend. I don't think he's up for doing your particular job. My best to ya and hope this helps.
