Hi, Steve and Sandy. No guarantees, but try an environmentally safe stripper like Citristrip on a small section in a hidden corner. Apply the stripper with a natural fiber brush about 1/8" thick. Let it set for a couple of hours. Remove it with a putty knife with masking tape on the working edge or a stripping pad. Rinse with water. Be sure that you do not get the stripper on any other areas that you do not want to strip. Be sure that you use chemical resistant gloves and eye protection when working with the stripper or any residue. Let us know how this works.
