I have a couple of questions for you:

1) Are you working with a budget?
2) Why not actual hardwood?

The laminate hardwood is plastic. Even though it has the look of hardwood, it will never be hardwood. The advantage of the laminate hardwood is that it can be installed be a DIY.
However the cost of the laminate is not inexpensive. I've looked into it and the cost is approx $3.80 - $4.80 /sf.

Actual hardwood can run you anywhere from
$4.00 -$6.50 /sf installed. A good hardwood will run you about $5 - $5.50.
Could be done by a DIY for much cheaper

On the other hand, I love ceramic tile. Most people complain about the cold temperature of the tile when walked on barefoot. Price can truly
vary on tiles.

Let me know if you have any questions
