Tile on laminate

I would not put tile directly on a laminate. If you do, your only hold-down strength will the the laminate's adhesive which will not always stay stuck down as well as it is now...and when it pulls up you will have disastersville.

However, there is nothing wrong with putting down 1/2" AC plywood (very smooth on one side), holding it down with screws right over the laminate, and then filling the screw head indentations with Fix-All or another leveling compound and sand flat just like you would with drywall.
