We have just purchased a new home. The tile was put down with the wrong color grout. They say that they can take 1/8 inch of the grout out and regrout or use a grout colorant to correct the problem. I have questions concerning both methods.
1. Is 1/8 of an inch enough to take out and will new grout adhere to existing grout - what problems will I face with this method and what procedures should be followed for best results?
2. Does grout colorant still look like grout or does it look painted? Our tile is a stone look and a dull finish - I don't want to ruin the look of brand new tile. Are any colorants better than others, what problems will I face with this method and what procedures should be followed for best results?
Considering all which option would you suggest on a new floor with this problem?
Thank you so much for any help you could give us.
