you are going to damage the drywall any, put a blanket in the tub & pull drywall & tile of at the same time. that will work for the inside wall. on the end walls you take a drywall saw & cut where the tile ends, take tiny saw motions, you dont want to cut an elet line, then you can pull the s/r & tile off. you will probably have to put a nailer board where you made these cut, i use a treated 1x6 & lay in in flat, use s/r screws. i would recomend you use concrete backer board, it comes in 3'x5' panels. anytime you do a remodel, always use screws, there are no set rules in remodel except the job has to look good, its easier to take screws out than a nail.. g/l to you
