You should remove the 1/4" Luan and vinyl, and inspect the 3/4" plywood, if it is in good shape, drive some screws in at 8" intervals, and then install Cement Board (1/4" is fine to keep height down), follow the MFG's installation instructions. This will give you a permanant floor.
