location of your crack is the meeting place of two stress areas, the garage floor which is level and then it meets the basement area. One is heaving up a bit or one is falling a bit. this is extremely normal at least in my region.

Remember this thinking: earth is like a sponge. When the earth or your area is dry, the earth will contract and shrink, when wet, the earth will expand and rise. This is a molecular thing that the dirt particles and water particles increase the size of what was only dirt particles.

After this rain you are expecting the crack will either heal or get worse.

I would not cover it, and the bass is not any of the problem nor is the hammer of the shower. Pipes, I would not think, would be in that are of the junction of the basement and the garage.

Just be aware of the situation and watch it.
