but most do not. As much as I hate to pour salt into your wound, this is part of the reference and check up on contractors part that you did not do properly. You should have asked for licenses, certifications, and referrals from others.

Now, all you can hope for is that your current contractor will come back and fix the situation. Taking him/her to court will only take many months to come up and then remedy will not be to your liking.

I would work with this person and do not scare him/her away and see if they can fix this for you. As a contractor myself, I hate, deplore, and resent going in to a job that was half #$%% done and required to fix it right. Most of the time you cannot because so much damage is done.

Again, politely with out threats, work with the current person and see if you can get some satisfaction.
