You might further describe how you heat by manual, which means to me that you had to jumper the heat on past the thermostat. The thermostat would also provide the automatic feature of heating. These indicate a thermostat problem. Some electronic thermostats interfere with the electronic board and require isolating relays to permit the furnace board to function.
