Several years ago I replaced the rope and weight system with metal friction tracks and restored all the windows in my house, circa 1842. I am about to replace these single pane, double hung windows with thermopane. I have a few questions. 1st, the replacement windows are inserts by a company called Silver Line, (7/8" LoE2, U Value =0.37). Do you have any info on these windows or the Company? Good or bad. They offer an 800-234-4228 for questions. 2nd, I have existing combination (storm) windows on my home. The inserts and done from inside. Should I leave the storms on? Will this increase the U value? Am I looking at moisture problems between the inserts and storms? Need some direction before the final decision. thanks Russ
