We have a two story living room and we still like the fan blowing down in the summer. Off the LR there is a family room/office loft, so we really don't want to have the warm air staying up high, plus even with the high ceilings we can feel the cool breeze of the Hunter fan. So far I'd have to say we'll be keeping it blowing down on us no matter what the season. (Partly because it's a long way up there to change it) I'm sure there's a right way and a wrong way(and we've been told already by our son that down in summer is wrong) , but whichever way is comfortable is right to me.
