slope continuous upwards. If the tube has low spots in it, the water in the moist air will condense out and fill the tube. I once had the same problem in a house that used flex tubing to vent to the ridge vent. The flex tube had a sag in it. Straightening the tube solved the problem.
Also make sure the flapper valve on the outlet of the fan is working so when the fan is off, a minimum of air "leaks" up the tube.
