If it has been cleaned before.Neutralize the residue.most likely it has not ...I have been a fabric expert all my life.Pretty much the best there ever was.Lots of articles in trade magazines etc.since it has never been cleaned siply do this.I doubt if you have anything fancy.Not bashing you,etc.But take a clean white cotton towel.Dip it in warm water.An wipe from one are to other well.force dry with fan then repeat.Do not get faancy to start.Just a uniform swipe across all areas once.Then after dry do it again.Pretty soon the remote should not stick.But to be safe wipe it too once in the back of it...Happy Hollydays...
