the reason I am worried is the house has been vacant for 6 months and it looked great none of the above signs you mentioned. But at the time of inspection when the water mains were turned on due to faulty winterization the water filteration system in the kitchen burst and that water came down through the basement ceiling (out from light fixtures)which is Drywall.The owners fixed the filteration system but my concern is that there could be water left in the drywall beams in the basement ceiling or the water could have gone in to the walls in the basement which has wooden panelling. Would the effect of the water damage show immediately or will it take few days/weeks to show damage on the drywall ceiling (will it loose shape or grow mildew/mold inside the ceiling or a one time accident DOES NOT affect anything. Thanks for your help!
