I guess I was trying to give you enough detail and rattled on instead. The "Cause(s)" of my bulging block foundation are a spruce tree too close to the house (that has since been removed), down spouts that need to be extended (and the worst issue) a back patio that was improperly installed by former owners. Other than the 'little' problem in the basement, the home is in excellent "show" condition (i.e., have addressed all other issues with the home to-date except this one, including painting, patching and repair, etc. work). When I stated I don't want to do the "outside" work - the inspector suggested I demo the patio and have it repoured, correctly ($$$$$).
My TRUE question is . . . in repairing the basement wall, should I go with "visible" beams or have them do the "invisible" (rebar/cement - wall weakener??) option and at what cost for 5-6 beams in the Cincinnati area?
