Thanks Henry.... but WHAT will the brass look like???

Appreciate the info Henry, but here's the deal. I've made a "box" which I have 3 layers of Spar Varnish on, and I'm attaching some
brass plates for accent. However, I found out today that my "weather-proof" glue "ISN'T!", the glue actually melted in the rain and
became sort of a milky substance. My thoughts were to finish adhering the brass with a new glueing (sp?) when it's going to be dry for
a few days, and then cover everything (wood and brass) with a final coat of Varnish to effectively "seal" both the wood, brass, and
glue under a true weather-proof layer of varnish. Any suggestions?
Wick
