So far everything we've tried removes the green paint okay, but the milk paint just seems to smear around. Even using a stripping pad to sand it leaves that white fog.

I read on another site to use a strong solution of TSP to remove the fog, so I tried it last night. It looked pretty good then, but this morning after it dried, the foggy appearance is still there.

Most of the bricks are in excellent condition. We had used a power washer on them last summer to remove a lot of the paint, but again while it did a pretty good job on the green outer coating, the milk paint wasn't touched. This is a huge old Victorian house with a LOT of brick in the foundation. At this rate it's going to cost us a fortune!
