In reply to Historic Wood Floor HELP!!! by Boyd on July 11th, 2000 04:04 PM [Go to top of thread]

I read your response to the person who replyed to me, at least that's what I thought it was. I have had replies from several people. One was one who supplied pictures of the house they did for "This Old House" They said that they used rope that they stained and worked into the gaps, it worked great! Others have recommended latex filler so it will give with the floor. The problem is that it is over 2000 sq. ft. of 100 year old hardwood floor. It is not practicle to relay. It is not the humidity or wheather related, mostly just the age and that it was an old tavern. I have been trying to get as many opinions as I can. I have heard it all, but you are the only one to suggest relaying, I am not going to do that! I may go with out filling altother for the rustic look, but I would like for it to be sealed and level if possible. Thanks
