Jay and Ron, thanks for the info. I'll check to to be sure that I didn't get too much transformer for my needs. Jay, I haven't strung the lights yet so I'll follow some of your advice. Since the lights (rock lights) will follow the path to our front door, I drilled through the foundation that leads into our garage. That way, I can mount the transformer inside the garage and feed the wire through the wall and underneath the concrete walkway (which will be poured today). I have a rigid conduit (PVC) to support the wire in the concrete and also allow me to fish more line through as required. I would be interested in more info on how you protected your connections. You can e-mail me at Again, thanks for the info. Isolating the hum in the garage should do the trick.
