We are in the process of putting on an addition to our home. We are in the 1st phase which is applying for the permits in our town. However, they are being particular and have requested that we provide a TGI floor plan. We have archetectual plans made and to my understanding explains why we are using TGI's but they want an explanation on why we decided to use them. My response is the distance from the columns to the opposite wall are to far apart. The reason we went with TGI's is because we do not want columns in the center of the basement. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Specs of TGI's: 11 7/8 TGI pro 250 jst 16 inches on center
Size of addition: Interior span 20 foot and 1 inch width

Thank you!
