Previous to my buying my house, someone textured OVER wallpaper and the wallpaper was attached right to the drywall in my family room, kitchen and both bathrooms. My teenage sons could have done a better job of wall texturing, it was terrible and started coming off and you could see the wallpaper underneath. It's been such a very time-consuming project to but I removed the wallpaper/texture from the family room last year and painted over the drywall with semi-gloss paint. Now I want to texture that room. What do I need to do to prepare the painted-over drywall for texturing?
I'm almost done removing the wallpaper/texture in the kitchen and I want to get that textured too. Those walls are just the drywall. What do I need to do to prepare the drywall for texturing?
Any advice you can give is greatly appreciated!
