the suede paint would not work well on texture. it is the play of light over the flat surface after the paint has been applied in x's that make it look like brushed suede. i helped a friend faux her cottage in fla - it has stucco walls - first she painted in eggshell finish paint (flat paint absorbs and won't work with faux) then i mixed a glaze 50/50 oil paint and oil glaze - rolled it on and ragged it off - glaze stayed in the recesses of the wall and came off the high points. i have done faux and murals for 5 years as my living and i know of no other technique that would work. you could use several similar shades of glaze to create more interest if you wanted.
