Texture matching is.....

the difficult part of patching a hole or adding a wall. You really have to be inside the original texturers head.

I would get a piece of scrap drywall and some mud and get a trowel, a crows foot brush and other tools and try to duplicate the original by experimenting.

Basically there are about five different types of "applied texturers" and many many others that are just ones imagination at work.

I do not know of any site that shows all the ones, but a simple search on google should yield one for sure.
