i just got done with an extensive terrazzo floor project like you are considering. First of all it is expensive(if its done right) Second its extremely dirty and the fumes are noxious. The process should be done with lots of water and diamond abrasives; so there will be lots of dust and your walls must be adequately protected from water damage. You must vacate your house(and any pets until the sealer had been applied and allowed to dry) The edges near the walls and around toilets etc., must be done with a hand held machine or done manually. Make sure that when the carpet tacks are removed that they do not just rip them up as that will cause huge hole in the terrazzo and require extensive repair. All in all it was a messy project but the result was fantastic. If you can do it with a completely empty house it is best, if not be prepared for lots of dust on everything. Good luck
