Thanks handyman - I do live in the south as well! My original statement was meant to inquire about salvaging boards that were not damaged but close in proximity to the damaged areas. I was not trying to go the "cheap" route or re-build on termite infested areas. I simply wanted some advice on the recommended solution (I could have sworn I found a how-to-site) /sarcasm! I have consulted several contractors and all have suggested to replace the framing. However one did say that because it was on an outside bricked wall, that there were "brick ties" that were attached to the studs and therefore the brick would need to be replaced? Has anyone heard of this, just curious not because I am CHEAP but because only 1 out of 4 contractors mentioned this? Any HELPFUL
