Termite damaged hardwood floors

Posted by Sammon on April 12th, 1998 11:19 AM

We encountered the problem of old termite tracks in our hardwood floors that showed up when we sanded them down in order to refinish them. We were wanting to leave the floors unstained, just sealing it with a polyurithane sealer. I am wondering if we can fill the tracks with a stainable woodputty ( I was told that DAP would stain) stained as close to the original wood as possble, or if there is anohter recommened way to conceal them. Or maybe this is just one of the common characteristics of a 70 year old house in the South that adds to the charm.
