not sure of that terminology, but I have used and heard of industrial strength particle board. They use this on palate jacking and palate racking for shelving in warehouses.

Its very hard and very heavy, but it still chips. It comes in 3/4 and 1 inch widths. I bet a 4x8 sheet weighs about 60 pounds or more. It will also put a strain on a circular saw.

The term is used in this original post so loosely that its hard to determine what exactly is being refered to.
