Telephone Installation

Posted by JAM on August 11th, 2000 09:25 AM

The telephone company recently added a second line to the "gray box" mounted on the OUTSIDE of my house and told me to run the line from the inside out and attach to the 2 screws in the "gray box" that have no wires already connected. The 2 screws are just gray screws--no color code. Do I connect the red wire to one of the screws (which one?) and the green wire to the other one? What do I do with the yellow and black wires. Someone told me that the yellow and black wires can just "dangle" inside the box--not connected to anything. Is this correct? I tried looking at the connection for the first line, but it has all sorts of wires connected. HELP!
By the way, my inside jacks for my first line work!!!
