Tape Residue

Hi, Susan. Mineral spirits/paint thinner is the best thing that I have found for tape residue, like for masking tape. The secret is to get some on a paper towel so it is pretty wet, then wipe the wall lightly, then let it dry. The idea is that the thinner will attack the residue easier than it will attack the paint. If you leave it on the wall and rub hard, yes, you will have the paint come off. If you don't get all the residue off, go thru the process again in an hour or so. And be careful with the paper towels soaked in thinner. Let them dry for 24 hours outside and then wet them in water before you put them in the trash.
