I just had a contractor come in a efinish my oak floors. The first and second coats after the sanding looded great but on the third and final coat My wife and I noticed swirl patterns all over the floor. I called the contractor and asked him to come back and he told me not to worry about it, when the floor cures in about a year, the swirl pattern will go away.
I am leery about this answer. Should he come back and fix the problem or is there even a problem to be concerned about ?
Since I only paid the contractor for half the job, perhaps I should not pay the other half until the year is over....
Any quick advice would be greatly appriciated....Is it normal for swirl marks to be present after the final coat is applied ???!?
