I would like very much to have a solid-surface countertop for the kitchen we're remodelling. We're doing some of the work in the kitchen ourselves, but I'm told that to make sure the warranty for this material is in place, I need to have a certified installer do the work. I've had an estimate from a Swanstone installer and, for two different thicknesses of material, the cost runs from $154-170 per linear foot. This is more, even, than I was told Corian would cost! Does anyone know what the ballpark for this material should be? I was led to believe it ought to be 2/3 the cost of Corian. I'm perplexed.
