I am going to install a suspended ceiling in the basement. I am afraid the 2'x4' panels may warp due to the humidity. I would like to use 2'x2' panels to try to avoid this, but it would be much more expensive. cutting the 2'x4' in half seems like a cheap way to do it, but the manufacturer recommends against it. Has anyone done this? What problems can I expect? Are my fears of the 2'x4' panels sagging unfounded? Any advice or opinions would be appreciated.
