Sump Pump needs venting if connected to sewer!

You tapped into the sewer, so you need to vent those sewer gases than can come back into the house.

Two things: One, buy a check valve that will be the first line of defense against gas coming back, and two: vent the gasses out of the house.

Check valve goes on the line coming out of the pump...between pump and sewer....

Vent comes out of tank and goes out of house
