Sump pump drainage problem

Posted by Leigh on April 5th, 2003 10:49 AM

Our house was built in 1938, the previous owners put in a sump system, it drains from the side of our house, onto the driveway, we had a very small plot of land about 1ft wide and 4 ft long where it used to drain. However we put in a new concrete driveway in the fall, and removed that plot of land. So our sump needs to be redirected, it has no area to drain, and is going onto the driveway and sidewalk which is illegal. We have temporarily run a 1/5 inch 40ft long pvc pipe externally to run the water to the rear of the house, which is ok for the moment, but the property grades to the front at about 25% creating constant runoff back into the property we have a very small front yard, 8"x12', and are concerned of the cost to run the line under the sidewalk to exit at curbside which is legal in our subdivision. Any suggestions would be wonderful. Thanks.
