I just bought a hundred year old house built on half an acre
of fairly steep, inclined lot. There appears to be either
a lot of run-off from the land (due to excessive rain) or
perhaps an old water pipe (from an old town water system)
broken and seeping into the property.

Previous owner was kind enough to have the basement redone
completely with a drainage system and a sump pump. Now all the
run-off that used to flood the basement drains beautifully
into the sump-pit! YEAH!

Problem is (with all this rain) i'm experiencing maybe
2 gallons every 5 minutes !!! the sump expells out to
my front yard, which is at about a 25% incline down, and the
gound can keep up! BIG TIME EROSION!!!
Any suggestions? can I and should I create a kind of drainage area underground?

any suggestions are welcome
